Our Little Trooper...

This little boy continues to give us a variety of new experiences and challenges everyday.  On Tuesday, 9/20, I was finishing up a meeting with the VRC and housing office.  They boys were stir crazy and jumping on the couches in the commons, with their mother yelling at them to get down.  The  next thing I know, Zaki is writhing (yes, writhing) on the floor crying.  He points to his wrist saying it hurts, something clicks, and I know something must be broken.  I call Shawn and somehow manage to get everyone back to the house, change a poopy diaper, get a bottle, go to the bathroom, get Max to someone's house, and Shawn, Nathan, Zak, and I head to the ER.  By the time we get to the ER, it is his elbow and not his wrist that is really swollen.

Zaki screams his way through xrays, and it turns out he cracked his ulna by his elbow.  He is so exhausted by the time they come to splint his arm, he sleeps through the whole process.

We have a week in a splint with his beloved teddy bear sling.

Then, we get the magic Green Cast (it was almost pink, but Zak changed his mind at the last minute)!

Ever since he got the cast, he has been so happy.  No more whining or wimpering.  He is almost happier than he was before he broke his arm!  He only has about a week and a half left with the cast, and then we are done.  We are very grateful this ended up being a relatively small adventure instead of something worse!

My Husband, the Multitasker!

I was taking care of getting laundry done and other things on a Saturday.  I come out of the kitchen to this:

He had turned on Cars for the kids to watch, was feeding the baby with one hand, and was sleeping with the rest of himself.  I love you honey!

This is what 1PM church does to you....

We have finally decided that they only way to survive our Sundays with 1PM church is to make sure that Zaki uses up enough energy in the morning so he falls asleep on the way to church and sleeps through Sacrament meeting.  Sacrament meeting is alot quieter with 2 kids asleep, Sunday evenings aren't nearly so dramatic (with constant Zak meltdowns).  Here was our view yesterday:

Doesn't that hard church floor look comfortable!?!?

That's Doctor McClelland to you!

My husband is the most wonderful man I know.  He works hard, is insanely smart, and is the best father for the three boys.  And now he is a DOCTOR! (well a Ph.D. doctor)  Shawn defended yesterday and did a wonderful job.  Here he is at the end answering questions:

Nathan had premission to sleep through the presentation.  He did squeek for his dad about halfway through...

Congratulations, Shawn!  I LOVE YOU!

Max ate WATERMELON!

Max has always been opposed to trying new things, especially when it comes to fruits and vegetables.  Yesterday, I was eating watermelon.  Max has always refused to try it, but he was having trouble putting his bike helmet on.  I told him if he ate a piece of watermelon, it would help him.  He ate a piece, and after whining about it for a minute, he decided he actually LIKED it!  This coming from a kid that I can count the number of vegetables/fruits he will eat willingly on one hand (literally-apples, green beans, tomato sauce, salsa, and occasionally carrots with lots of ranch).  We have officially branched to two hands for a total of 6 items!  Here is a pic.  By the looks of it, watermelon eating is pretty dangerous--he is taking it safe be wearing his helmet while eating! :)

Love you, Max!

The first post

I decided I need to start keeping a history of our family.  The boys are growing and I want to make sure I capture every moment and write it down for the boys to look back and remember.  I love my family!  They are the biggest blessing in my life.  With that, I will start with two of the most recent pictures of our family and the boys.  These were taken on July 24th after we blessed Nathan.
(Yes, we spend  alot of time telling Max to get his finger out of his nose!)

I'm excited to start this!  I love my 3 boys, or I guess I need to change this to my 4 boys, since I especially love my HUSBAND!
