Our Little Trooper...

This little boy continues to give us a variety of new experiences and challenges everyday.  On Tuesday, 9/20, I was finishing up a meeting with the VRC and housing office.  They boys were stir crazy and jumping on the couches in the commons, with their mother yelling at them to get down.  The  next thing I know, Zaki is writhing (yes, writhing) on the floor crying.  He points to his wrist saying it hurts, something clicks, and I know something must be broken.  I call Shawn and somehow manage to get everyone back to the house, change a poopy diaper, get a bottle, go to the bathroom, get Max to someone's house, and Shawn, Nathan, Zak, and I head to the ER.  By the time we get to the ER, it is his elbow and not his wrist that is really swollen.

Zaki screams his way through xrays, and it turns out he cracked his ulna by his elbow.  He is so exhausted by the time they come to splint his arm, he sleeps through the whole process.

We have a week in a splint with his beloved teddy bear sling.

Then, we get the magic Green Cast (it was almost pink, but Zak changed his mind at the last minute)!

Ever since he got the cast, he has been so happy.  No more whining or wimpering.  He is almost happier than he was before he broke his arm!  He only has about a week and a half left with the cast, and then we are done.  We are very grateful this ended up being a relatively small adventure instead of something worse!

My Husband, the Multitasker!

I was taking care of getting laundry done and other things on a Saturday.  I come out of the kitchen to this:

He had turned on Cars for the kids to watch, was feeding the baby with one hand, and was sleeping with the rest of himself.  I love you honey!
